Paul MacLellan, CEO of Medical Advantage to present healthcare transformation trends to rural physicians of Indiana

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, June 21, 2016 – Medical Advantage is a participant at the Indiana Rural Health Association Annual Conference which takes place at the French Lick Springs Hotel, French Lick, Indiana, June 20 to 22. As part of the conference, Medical Advantage CEO Paul MacLellan shall present Transitioning from Fee-for-Service Reimbursement to Population Health Management and Value-Based Purchasing. Medical Advantage will also sponsor a booth in the exhibit area.

“We’re proud to play an active role at the rural health event this year,” said Paul MacLellan, CEO of Medical Advantage. “As our industry transforms to a fee-for-value model, there are many challenges and obstacles for independent physicians – especially those in rural areas. We’re excited to share our insights and best practices for rural healthcare providers during the conference.”

Medical Advantage manages CIPA, the Consortium of Independent Physician Organizations, which consists of a network of 40 physician organizations representing 1,200 physicians throughout Michigan – who are dedicated to the practice of independent medicine. Members include individual practices, group practices, rural health clinics, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and physician hospital organizations. Most CIPA physicians are independent solo practitioners located in both urban and rural settings. Last year alone, Medical Advantage helped CIPA members earn $17 million in additional practice revenue from fee schedule increases and financial incentives. Beyond Michigan, Medical Advantage recently launched CIPA Ohio – extending the same benefits to independent physicians in Ohio.

About the Consortium of Independent Physician Associations

Established in 2005, the Consortium of Independent Physician Associations (CIPA) is a regional network of 40 physician organizations across Michigan and Ohio representing 1,200 physicians dedicated to the practice of independent medicine. CIPA creates the opportunity for smaller groups of physicians to participate in pay-for-performance programs and value-based contracts that are normally only available to larger groups. Members include individual practices, group practices, rural health clinics, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and physician hospital organizations. CIPA is endorsed by the Ohio State Medical Association. To learn more, visit www.JoinCIPAOhio.com.
